Week 3

Hour 1 –

There are different project governance styles and this is important to take into consideration as it may impact who contributes to the project, the lifespan of the project etc..

• Benevolent Dictator for Life – only one person gets a say
• Meritocracy – those contributors that show dedication are given a formal decision making role.
• Consensus Board – all member get equal votes

Robust community vs embrace death

Robust community means that people can learn from previous mistakes and keep the project, however sometimes the project can become obsolete which in that case it is better to leave it die with dignity.

Hour 2 + 3 –

Me and my group (4 members) chose to develop a web-based toll that allows users to customise existing emojis. I did not enjoy the GitHub collaboration mode it was too complicated.
